This policy explains how ECartify (“Ecartify”, “we”, “us”) handles information when a store owner uses Ecartify Ads, the feature of the Ecartify AI Commerce platform that lets a store connect its Facebook account and create, run and measure ads on Facebook and Instagram from its store admin. It adds to our general Privacy Policy, which covers the rest of our website and services.
Who this applies to
Ecartify Ads is used by businesses (“stores”) that run an online store on the Ecartify platform, and by the people they authorise to manage it. We do not use Ecartify Ads to collect information about the store’s own shoppers.
What we collect
When you click Connect Facebook and log in with Facebook, you choose which permissions to grant. Depending on what you allow and the features you use, we receive:
- Your Facebook profile basics: your name, Facebook user ID and, if you share it, your email address, so we know which person connected the account.
- An access token issued by Meta that lets Ecartify Ads act on your behalf within the permissions you granted.
- Business and ad account details: the Business account, ad accounts, currency, time zone and spending limits you choose to connect.
- Pages and Instagram accounts: the Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts you select to advertise from, including their name, ID and profile picture.
- Campaign data: the campaigns, ad sets, ads, audiences, budgets and creatives (text, images and videos) that you create or manage through Ecartify Ads.
- Ad results: performance figures from Meta such as reach, impressions, clicks, spend, purchases and return on ad spend. These are aggregated figures; we do not receive the identity of the people who saw or clicked your ads.
We do not receive or store your Facebook password, and we never see your payment card details. Ad charges are billed by Meta directly to the payment method on your ad account.
Why we use it
- To connect your store to your ad account and Pages, and keep that connection working.
- To create, publish, pause and edit ads when you ask us to, including ads written or suggested by our AI tools for your review.
- To show you ad results and reports inside your store admin.
- To provide support when you ask for help, and to keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
- To meet our legal obligations and Meta’s platform rules.
We only use Meta data to provide Ecartify Ads to the store that connected it. We do not use it to build profiles of people, to advertise our own services, or for any other store.
AI features
If you use AI features (for example to write ad text or suggest audiences), the relevant product and campaign details may be sent to our AI providers to produce the suggestion. They process it only to return the result to us. Nothing is published to Meta until you approve it.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
- Data is stored on servers operated by or for Ecartify. Access tokens are encrypted at rest.
- All connections to Meta and to your store admin use encrypted HTTPS.
- Access is limited to the Ecartify staff who need it to run and support the service.
No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected stores and authorities as the law requires if a breach occurs.
Sharing
We never sell or rent your data. We share it only:
- with Meta, when we send your ads, budgets and settings to your ad account on your instruction;
- with service providers that host or support our platform (such as server hosting, email and AI providers), under confidentiality obligations and only as needed to provide the service;
- if required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public;
- with a buyer or successor if Ecartify’s business is transferred, under the same protections.
How long we keep it
We keep this data while your Facebook account is connected to your store. When you disconnect Facebook, remove the Ecartify app in your Facebook settings, close your store, or ask us to delete it, we delete your access tokens immediately and the rest of the Meta data within 30 days, unless we must keep a record by law. Your choices and rights
- You can disconnect Facebook at any time from your store admin, or remove Ecartify in your Facebook settings.
- You can change the permissions you granted in your Facebook settings.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data by emailing info@ecartify.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local data protection laws.
Meta’s own policies
Your use of Facebook and Instagram is also governed by Meta’s Terms and Data Policy. Meta processes your ads and ad results under its own policies, which you can read at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Children
Ecartify Ads is a business tool and is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top, and tell connected stores by email or in their admin about any important change.
